Lucky Lefty Loves Lofty Little Lodges
Lucky Lefty Loves Lofty Little Lodges. Place buildings and platforms on Lucky's shell, buildings that make it to the next day score more Resource points. Use the forecast in the bottom left to know what danger awaits you for the next day. How big can you make the village?
How to play:
- Tap and drag resources in the top right UI bar above platforms.
- Release to drop the building.
- Resources that still exist score more resources.
- Don't forget to save enough to place more platforms.
- Buildings can be picked up and rearranged or dragged into the trash can to get the points back.
- Look at upcoming forecast: Bumpy ground, climbing up/down a hill, wind, rain.
- Click the button in bottom right to start the day.
This was made in 2 days for Ludum Dare 56, theme Tiny Creatures.
Unfinished parts:
- Mushrooms on buildings were meant to make the building more stable, didn't have time for working on that mechanic.
- No showing/tracking max height and max population scores. Didn't finalize balancing of how population should work.
- No tiny creature movements, I wanted them to walk around.
- Unfinished art to make the game look more cohesive, snail art was from an idea at start of jam that was later abandoned.
- Placing buildings high up is basically impossible due to how much it moves around, I wanted to make it easier for players to build very high up. In hindsight this idea. should have been cut for the jam and focused more on village population.
- Resource scoring happens immediately at end of the forecasted day, this should wait a few moments so falling buildings don't score.
- No UI elements for when buildings scored for better messaging to player.
- No limitation on where items are placed. I also wanted to limit the distance platforms could be placed from each other.
- No player modes. I wanted there to be a casual mode and difficult mode. Difficult mode wouldn't allow catching falling buildings or rearranging buildings.
- Temp title screen.
- More place-able village buildings/features.
